yes the flaming pigs.. That's in the vanilla version of Rome, I only play the highly modified version of total realism.

Ah, this is the game people at work have been talking about - spose to be quite good! How does it compare to the AOE series?

It's far superior in every way if you ask me. AOEIII is a great game in its own right but it doesnt have the scope or depth of RTW.

In RTW terms AOEIII was a step back from AOEII though

Did they not base a tv program on RTW. commander or something?

yeah - something similar I think but not quite - they recreated ancient battles and saw whether either team could repeat the successful tactics of their predecessors or whether the other could overcome tactical lessons and in fact win.

I only watched about 10mins - seemed a bit fanciful.
