I really don't care for the console support. To me it just means they will streamline the game even more so they can have controllers be playable. Which means simplified features. A thing they have already been doing for over a decade. Also consider modding support. A crucial part of the TW series.

I am hopeful for more performance though. While I don't think Havoc really solves anything that's currently an issue for the series, a fully remade modern engine should finally be able to handle those massive battles without much slowdown, unlike now. If they can fix that, battle unit pathfinding, and general battle AI, it would solve a lot of the big battle issues. Campaign side is a very long list unfortunately...

Now let's see what they can cook up in ME3.

If the rumours are true and Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is a thing, destruction could be a big thing. As is vehicle-related changes. There were also reports of a Total War: WWI from a while back, which explains some of the changes. That game was cancelled, as far as I am aware.

Today's Total War games are built on old foundations, so these changes are very welcome. TBH, Warhammer III would benefit a lot from modern upscaling/Anti-Aliasing solutions. Its stock resolution scaling is horrendous. Radeon Image Sharpening and NIS do a better job.

This week of all weeks, the word "crucial" should not be used in any gaming/PC-related post or content.
