Maximus VI Formula Issue, HELP!

hi everybody,

i bought a 4770k and a maximus vi formula in february and i was quite excited, it all worked on test boots, until i brought it up to my room from the dining room table, then i started to notice something. when i shut down my pc, approx. 10-30mins later it would randomly start back up and at this point i thought nothing of it and i believed that it was a faulty power button, so i just left it, after a while it started to annoy me so i unpluged my power switch and used the onboard one, this had no effect the board still randomly powered up after shutting down, and because i did not know if i had a warranty (because i have yet to fill in the on screen pop up that appears at every start) i just got on with it, but recently i have noticed that the line out jack on my on-board sound doesnt work, i get no audio through it at all, i have tried multiple headphones and i have restarted multiple time, i do not believe this is an overclocking issue as my whole system has only blue screened once (whilst editing a game value when the game was open) so everything else seems pretty solid, and i thought i would get the OC3D community opinion on what to do, as i have been leaving my system on which does not help the power bill :P

Thanks

Blair

A possessed motherboard eh? Have you somehow set up the Auto power on state in the bios and not realised? It's the only thing I can think of at this late hour.

i would also blame some thing like wake on lan. but if you dont have audio thats something els again. i had a board with no audio failed after a while. so i bought a usb thing wasnt a big deal. then it had no lan. so i just used wireless usb. then the pwm section caught fire and it was dead.
probably should have rma'd it when it lost audio to be honest because it took ages to really die.

i want to blame a short for it all. but honestly i never was able to find out where it could have shorted out.

Thing is because i didn't register my board with asus within 30 days (which i personally dont think you should have to when you spend nearly £215 on a piece of plastic and copper) so i contacted scan, the people i bought it off of, so we shall see how this pans out, although i don't wanna lose my system for ages, but lucily i have a mac mini coming to kinda fill in.

keep the replies coming though

You should be alright with scan their pretty good with these things, what I will say is though keep them on their toes. Message them every other day.

odds are its just not gona work right so get on with trying to get them to replace it so far it should be their fault
