Managed Switch

Hey guys and girls,

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced managed gigabit switch? I struggle to find anything that's reasonably priced, as the ones I'm used to are typically 48 port (or 24port) and are very expensive.

I've seen a few that are reasonably priced, but the features they have are some times lacking :(

8 ports would be plenty. As for features, associating a private ip range (10.0.0.0/24 etc) to a VLAN and then untagging or tagging that to a port.

at a basic level, that's what i'm after. anything else is a plus :)

ideally, around the £100 mark (which the one you've linked to fits in nicely), although that's only FastEthernet rather than Gigabit

I got an hp procurve 1910 8G switch for my network. All metal construction and an internal psu so it takes an IEC rather than using a wall-wart. It also has a console cable allowing traditional terminal access in addition to the web interface, plus a ninth port in the form of an SFP should you need it.
