just started overclocking .. ive been using n-tune for my nvidia graphics card .. all was well and got some half decent results for the GPU and CPU BUT .. on the last run i had reached the max and it went choppy (all previous settings worked fine) .. so i restarted and lowerd the settings down .. i then re-tried the checker to see if the choppyness had gone .. but it had not.

retarted pc again .. but after around 1min10 - 1min30 it freezes .. 100% (this is my 2nd pc .. that how im able to come online and type this)

from what i can remember i got the settings to (and made them start when windows did)

CPU 200MHz factory got them to 248MHz (250MHz was as far as the bar would go)

GPU core bus (what ever the 8600GT is factory) to 668MHz

Memory bus (what ever it was factory) to 867MHz

they were the last saved settings and they did work .. until i tried higher (did not save) and then tried to lower them below what i saved ...

how am i going to reslove this problem? i was thinking of re-installing XP from my boot cd .. would this work ? or is there a way from the BIOS to change it back ?

no worries .. no idea how i solved the problem .. but i went into the bios and fiddeled with some of the CPU settings (and put them low) and then told the PC to start to the 'last good known working config' .. now its working thank god :o:D
