Out of interest could you run it with Vsync on?
There's something odd about this game because I ran mine with Vsync off and it was so slow I couldn't even play it.
TBH I'm not sure if I am going to like it very much. It's just too much of a copy of GTAIV and I don't like GTAIV very much.
I'm probably alone in this but I have always seen the GTA games (in 3D) as a load of not very interesting mini games all thrown together with a boring story. Vice City was the best of a bad bunch IMO.
I don't quite understand why they give you the option of driving the car in first person (rather than third) but coded the game purely in third person. Now maybe if the game was in first person it would be really different. No one has done a game like this like that before.
The music is absolutely excellent though. Although let's be honest, they didn't write it or make it, just unloaded a juke box somewhere.
Not sure how this one will go down in honesty.
*DOH !*
Last week I was having terrible GPU problems. At first I thought it was the drivers so I reinstalled. Still messed up. In desperation I booted into safe, ripped them all out using DS and installed Cat 10.4 as they were great before. All sorted.
Then I realised what I had done. I can't remember why now but I forced AA in the CCC. Possibly for an older game? Can't remember. Any way, I reinstalled 10.7 and Mafia is like a different game. It's faster, smoother and the AA is now working. I've also got shadows, shiny roads and pearl paint. Really odd that.
What's fun is stealing one of those convertible Corvettes and taking it to the garage. Switch the plates to make it yours and tune the balls off of it. It does 110mph if you push it, but crash and you die
Great fun.
