Mach II St Temp probs

Hi all first off

I am new to the mach II cooling and i am having probs with my temp

Current system Spec

P4 3.2 800 fsb

Aopen mobo Ax4c Max II

Cheftec power Supply 360w

Gigabyte X800xt

Mem Ocz PC4000 2x512

Mach II St unit

I have read loads of reviews etc on fitting the unit and I can't get the unit any lower than -7 @ idle with the chip 3.2@ 240 fsb 3.9gig and under load the temps reach 10-12c this cant be right .

I have reseated and resealed the mobo bracket and the cpu head unit on more than one occasion with still no joy

The temps are being read via MBM5 from the mobo sensor displayed on my matrix mx212usb LCD or would i be better of connecting a thermal probe to my LCD for a more reliable temp .

Hope there is nothing wrong with the unit

Any ideas anyone pulling my hair out here

Hi there mate, welcome to the forum.

Ok we need to work out if the ST is cooling to its full potential which requires a thermal probe placed on the evap head - unless the usb works on your unit thats the only way to find out the true temp. It should cool to about -35 degrees idle @ stock settings. If it doesnt then it suggests you have a leak somewhere - can you hear escaping gas at all?
