just a quick question - what fans come in the GT - I'm guessing they are 120mm ones - was wonderng if I could replace them with blue led 120mm ones or do you not really see the fan through the vents at the front of the GT case? (on the Lian-Li add-on)

Cheers.

I guess you would see a glow behind the small ventilation holes of the Lian Li front. I'm not sure wether they include in the Lian Li kit the same type of foam filter than you have on a real Lian Li case. In that case, the 'cool effect' of the blue leds will be really faint.

the fan is behind the radiator so you wont see it through the front grill, also, you would have to ensure you had a fan of similar spec as you need decent airflow.

ok thanks. I don't think I'll bother. While I'm talking about fan does anyone know the max amps a matrix orbital MX222 can take from fans? I want to use one as a fanbus.

max output is 1 amp, btw you cant use this to control mach II fans as it wont power up until the mach II reaches temp which means the fans wont be on & it will error out.

1 amp! isn't that rediculously small? I wanted to power and control 3 blue led 120mm fans. is this not possible?

yup its a piece of **** m8, thats why Im sticking with my fan-o-matic, only downside is software is in german, but got there in the end ;)

note thats 1 amp per channel (still poo) but might be enough for what you want.

wooops i was thinking of Watts the fan takes. the fans I am having are 0.40A each. theres three channels on the MO aren't there?

The one you have - is that just a fan controller or an LCD as well?

BTW when controlling fans with the MO theres no buttons on the silver version is there so is it all done through software/GUI in windows? is fo does it remeber your setting after a restart or will the fans be going full pelt whenever you turn the PC on?

Thanks.

whats wrong with teh fans in the mach2? i think they are quite good :P they do a kick ass job of cooling the evaporator and seem pretty quiet, specialy if you turn the speed down, i have them just under half speed, that cools the evap to around -45 to -50 on idle and arround -35 on load (there abouts) at full speed i cant sleep with em on :P but wen i play big games for a long time i like to have it on full to run nice and cool

Fan O matic ruuuules mate! Too bad it i so expensive. I've got one for my w/c setup. What are you using your Fan o matic for in a Promy? Just need some ideas before I start the integration of my Mach2 GT unit next week. Cheers.

certainly does m8, Im using it to control fans on my water cooling, cool GPU, Hard disks & north bridge, just a shame it wont read sub zero as I have a lovely thin probe touching the die :(

Note on the fan o matic, you dont need to run the software, it updates the unit (firmware) & using those settings on startup (& it has a screen).

the fan-o-matic is a bit more "polished" (cant think of the right word !). It uses PID control for the fans so basically it ends up quieter, it has a 2 second boost start feature (lets say youve programmed fans to go in the range 5 - 7 volts, its will start them at 12 for 2 seconds when temp triggers them on before dropping to 5 & increasing as temps go up). Downsides are German language software & price. I guess the MO version is ok, but it had to many donwsides for me, eg not being able to use flat temp sensors for one, dallas 1 wire jobs ar a pain in the ass
