Mach II dead!!

MARK2

I am having big problems with my Mach II GT. i had finally got it up and working fine when a currupt dvd caused a cyclic redundancy error in my dvd drive that shut down windows and now my cooling system has just gone mad? all wires are connected right as it working perfectly before. now when i turn on the pc the MACH II GT activates and cools down down to my set tempeture (-20) the pc then boots the mach II displays the foolowing message: running, then suddenly it displays power down then idle the the restet timer kicks in and the the tempeture begins to rocket (due to the mach II turning itself off) which leads me to shut down before i can even log in. i have tried two differnt operating sytems as to eliminate software and i am really stuck now. my old mach 1 lasted me for well over a year before it gave up the fight i have bearly had 13 hours use out of this Mach GT II and have spent hours of work and £500 on this new version which is turning into a real nightmare.........please help!!!!!!

Thanks

Hook your mach2 up to a running pc just the usb cable make sure your mach2 has power connected you should be able to flash the firmware that way it could also just be a control board issue

That is how they behave when the molex connector is not getting power (on control board). I had a dodgy connector that needed replacing which behaved in the same way. It is worth checking it. Good luck! :)

Re-flash

Thanks everyone for the quick replies to my post. new problem: i hooked up my laptop to the usb connection on my mach II installed the software and ran bootloader. i got the lastest firmware from the software section of this site (789) while flashing the firmware boot loader crashed aabout 1 8th of the way into the job now ...you guessed it every time i plug in my mach II all i get is "bootloading" "waiting" / (on some ocations configured). i have tried and tried to get it to load up and every time i finnaly get thier though a combination of reinstalling the software and powering the mach II on and off it just crashes again at 1 8th complete :(. and idea's welcome........(thanks in advance to everyone that helps out on a regular basis)

Looks like whatever has happened the controller board has become corrupt due to whatever has been done the dvd or whatever

Maybe get a new controller an try that

Your Mach 1 lasted only 1 year? I hope that for 600£, my Mach2 GT will last at least 5 years!!!

GOOD POINT

anyone know the life span of a Mach 2 GT, or let us now how long

you have had one without problems

its a lot of $$$s to spend on something that might not last long

I'm thinking of getting one, so your comments would be appreciated

You know about Irn Bru? Glasgows finest! :) Can it be bought in deepest England? Ive never seen it in shops further south than Carlisle.....

Nothing beats hangovers, or tiredness like a good bottle of IB :)

Have a coffee and some Irn Bru in the morning, and REALLY tune yourself to Mars!
