Lower vcore with new mobo ?

So when I had the Sabertooth Z87 I had to put in 1.30 to get my overclock of 4.80GHZ, Nothing on that board would let me go lower even though it is a rock solid board.

Originally I had it at 1.28 but found it was unstable in certain benchmarks and 1.30 fixed all that.

I recently switched to the Maximus VI Formula and now I can have 1.27 running all the same benchmarks etc... fully stable.

Now I understand that better components equals a better experience but what exactly enables this i.e which component/s ?

the maximus range also have better LLC and overall way better contacts etc its similar to the difference between the Gigabyte OC board and a standard ud3.. the sabertooth range are made for aesthetics more than anything great boards though :D

another comparision is my my z77g45 standard i now have the gaming version same issue on my standard board i needed 1.325v for 4.5ghz stable now on my gaming board it only needs 1.28 for the same clock! the heat syncs are also better hope this helps!
