LOTR Beta stress test

If it has it in their fine print and they arent in the US its perfectly legal dude. Over here i said i would sue becasue of invasion of privacy but not every country has that ya know. I didnt realize that before i spoke up. Also, it was probably their way of telling you not to torrent (the virus) which im guessing.

Not sure what it's like in America and Canada, but in the UK loads of people have been warned and kicked off of ISPs for downloading movies etc on torrents as most stuff is filtered and is trackable. Especially torrents etc.

But not all torrents are illegal, so not sure how/why a ISP would block all access to them, altho some ISPs in the UK were blocking ports to kazaa etc

From an ISP pov, especially a smaller one or one based in a `small` area, torrents, quite a bit more than stuff like limewire, absolutely HOG bandwidth.

And depending on how they`ve technically linked all their customers in an area - one night of some1 using torrents could clog a route enough to require a resetting.

I got the ever so strangest feeling this beta stress test was for the weekend only.

If so, I guess it`s w8 til open beta or another email.

Yup, it was. It's exactly like how they beta tested Guild Wars. They will open it up like 2 x weekends / month until launch (approx 3 months) so that they can keep testing and refining their tweaks and fixes.
