Yea got this just now for DX9. I believe i got pwned. Maxed 1024x768 (Cept shaders, medium i guess cause of DX9) with HDR snow 30, cave 20

On direct x9 my 6800 really struggled. It wasn't all that pretty..

But killing big bugs? Could anyone really say no?

That was the first demo level. The second one i guess is ice pirates and mechs? Idk, second one was hard.

There is never going to be a DX10 for windows xp. BUT saying that Microsoft did say that service pack 2 was the last one this time last year, now we have news of sp3. So maybe dx10 will be part of it.

Game devs would prefer them to release DX10 for XP.

Having said that, thinking with the blindsided way they program things, if DX10 has been Vista only since early stages, I`m not so sure they`d take the time, trouble or effort to pass it to XP. ~Theoretically~ it shouldn`t be a big deal, but u know how things go.

Would it be cheaper to buy an XBox360+Lost Planet to play it ?

I played it exstensively last night and i dont really like it. And DX10 on XP would be easy, beacsue from what ive been seeing, they didnt incorporate the new "DX10" things into Vista like they where supposed to. So it should be able to just isntall like Arpl DX9C 2007. Of course, Microcrap dont want you to know that. The only reason they are saying DX10 cant go onto XP is to make you buy Vista to give them more money period. And yes, SP3 is in the horizon for THIS year. (So ive hear, and seen in ads online)
