Looking to buy a new Motherboard

Hey guys I am considering buying a new motherboard for my main rig, currently have an MSI P67A-G45 with a 2600K. I am thinking of keeping the CPU and only replacing the motherboard.

The two motherboards that I like the most are the MSI Z77 MPOWER and the SABERTOOTH Z77. What are your thoughts and suggestions on these motherboards? Is it worth it to upgrade now?

Well they are both great motherboards. I'd take the msi one but I can't really fault either.

If I was in your situation though I wouldn't change a thing you won't get any more out of your rig by changing the motherboard. Or has your current motherboard gone dodgy?

No, it is working fine. I just get the itch to buy new shit. I just finished my PS07 build and cannot do anything with the Dragon Slayer till I get the roof panel in and am already getting bored.

I wish I could just buy stuff when I'm bored :-) Personally I'd keep the mb and wait for haswell, out of the two boards, I'd get the mpower for looks and the special testing.

Get a new GPU instead?

I thought about that a while ago but was unsuccessful at trying to sell the R6950 for a decent price. That is why I initially bought the 670, but now the 670 is in the PS07 folding away and the R6950 is back in the main rig so my wife can play Sims.

It is not so great. I have a ton of hardware just sitting around. My family don't mind because they usually get the extra stuff for free. In fact I just finished a build for my mom using the extra components from my old folding rig. Not the best stuff but better then the Dell P4 system she had prior. I just bought a Cooler Master Elite 343 case, a new Keyboard and Mouse combo and a new hdd and she could not have been happier.

SEBAR, i'm in the same conundrum.. and im seriously leaning MPower. almost pulled
the trigger on a GD65, but the MPower has a sleaker look and better power phase
over the GD65. to me.. the sabertooth is meah.. capping the RAM speed to 1866
isn't an enthusiasts board. expensive gamer, but not an enthusiasts board.
so i got alerts on low-ball pricing on the MPower. just missed one @ $140. figuring
the closer the holidays get, the pricing will get to "my level" of purchasing.

I would have been hard to pass on $140 for the MPower. I will keep my eyes open.

yes sir, i have.. as a matching ensemble they'd be great.. but my eye is on the
corsair platinums. the glimmer of a raystorm LED next to the twinkling platies...
i'd noticed them on the release of the MPower and they caught my eye, but the
speeds are fair, but not great? like Tom was emphasing, " the bridge chips thrive
on speed". unless it is a gamer box, always side with speed. on sandy 1866/2133
and ivey 2133/2666. so on my 2550k im looking for the 1866 2x 8GB kit or 2133
4x 4GB kit. i'd like to have the 2133 4x 8GB and split it.. but that kinda jack isnt
laying around so much today..
