Looking to buy a new CPU cooler

Hey all,

I looking to buy a new CPU cooler, I would like to get one that has a Black heatsink its not a big deal if i can't get one but a top cover would be the next best thing, The ones i'm looking at maybe way overkill for the i3 that i have, Would a 140mm cooler be better than a 120mm.

The ones i'm looking at is.

Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3
Phanteks PH-TC12DX CPU Cooler
Phanteks PH-TC14S Dual Tower

Is there any other options out there apart from those 3 but also it depends on if i can get them tho.

Personally i would just recommend the Coolermaster evo 212 cooler, cheap, good and pretty quiet.

Thanks for the tip but it's not going to match my colour scheme that i have planned.

from the place i'm buying it from they don't have the 212 evo anymore.

Didn't Cryorig do one that was basically the same but all black at a similar price?

Can't remember what it's called though, NeverBackDown will know.

Edit; Could be either the H5 (you can probably paint the top) or the H7 (and then get a fan that fits your colour scheme rather than the white one).

I just check the Cryorig website there is no black heatsink version unless it's a EOL model

Well it's got a black top, but grey heatsink

Can't go wrong with either BeQuiet! or Phanteks though. Go for whichever looks nicest or is cheaper, I'd say.

If you want a heatsink black, you can always get it anodized. That said, I'd still go for the Dark Rock 3

The Dark Rock 3 is huge it's going into a M-ATX case i think it would look silly, maybe i could be better of with the Dark Rock 2 if i can find one down here, There was another Black heat sink one TTL did a review of it like 4 years ago i can't remember the name of it tho

Doesn't look like i can get that cooler here, TBH Be Quiet is fairly new in Australia not many shops carry Be Quiet products.

You said just cooling an i3 right? Well you won't need much in the way of cooling so I don't see a point in spending much on a cooler. I'd say CM Hyper T4 but if you want little more cooling capacity then I would say the Cryorig H5

I don't really like the design of the CM Hyper T4, so would you still say the Cryorig H5 over Be Quiet! Pure Rock

The big difference i can see that is the Cryorig H5 is a 140mm cooler and the Be Quiet! Pure Rock is a 120mm cooler.

I'd go with the H5 over the Pure Rock if it was me, looks nicer and probably cools better. Seems to have little more surface area and the 140mm fan is a big plus
