Looking for water cooling part suggestions

I could always add a 240mm rad in the floor if needed, wont cost too much extra.

I'm now thinking about the order things would be in, not sure if it matters too much. If I were to have 2 rad's I was thinking:
top 360 rad -> cpu -> res -> pump -> bottom 240 rad -> gpu -> top rad
Does that sound like it would work out? If I wasn't having the 2nd rad, it would be the same but going from pump -> gpu?

I want to go for something fairly quiet and still a little confused about whether to go for a 45 thick rad with push/pull with fairly low fan speeds or 60 thick with just pull, but I fear the fans may have to run fairly fast to do the job. I may be wrong though, this is my first water cooling rig :)

What's your current rig? :)

I'd avoid push pull really. Considering that'll mean you'd have to get 6 fans, and cabling will be a bit of a mare. If you used the noctuas or scythes you'd get away with 3 fans on the 60mm thick just in pull. You can run them at 7v and have them near silent so it'll be fine for noise just having 3. You'll still maintain decent temps

Okay, thanks :) Never used the Noctua fans before because I don't like the look. But, if they are in the roof of the case I wont see them so it wont be so bad. Are the NF-F12's better at 7v than say the Corsair SP performance fans at 7v? in terms for static pressure/noise?

Currently, the rig I'm using now is an FX-6120, Asus M4A89GDT Pro, an Antec 1200 case with stock fans (quite noisy ones), a Corsair A70 cpu cooler and an XFX 5770 OC'd. Its not exactly a quite rig so that's why I wanted to look into new options with water cooling :)

They will be better at 7v yes - and I'd say quieter too. The Scythes would also be a good choice if you don't want to be spending £20 on a fan.

Sorry to go back to the AMD thing again - but so you know, you wont see any performance difference whatsoever between the 6120 and the 8150. I have to say that's the most pointless upgrade I can actually think of.

I was just looking at the different options, I seem to be leaning towards the Intel option now with a 3770K. The processor wasn't meant as a massive upgrade since this current rig would be going to someone else anyway.

Do you think it would be any more advantageous to add a 240 rad in the bottom?

Thanks for your help btw, and everyone else :)

I think you'd be best going for the 60mm thick 360 - running that for a few weeks and seeing if temps mean you need to get the second. People often rush in and buy things as a precaution when they often dont need it. I think temps will be fine with the single 360, so I dont think you need it.

Okay thanks :D
