Looking for help - New computer

(First of all, I'm sorry for the bad english... its my 2nd language)

Hello,

Its my second time building a computer on my own and I'm kinda lost... The last few weeks I have been reading reviews about every single possible piece, and when I think I found the right pieces, I find topics saying it has some kind of weird problem and the manufaturer doesn't offer decent suport...

Anyway, I want to build a computer mainly for gaming, but I would like to be able to overclock it (never did it before)

Money "isn't" a problem, but I don't have the need to go EXTREME, I just want good pieces to be able to play with (perfomance + value for money).

And as a last comment, I don't know if it affects anything, but... I'm from Brazil, and all the hardware here costs 2x or 3x more (as a example, a sabertooth p67 that costs 225$ shipped on the US, here its 500$ shipped), BUT, I will be going to the US in 2 weeks, so I can buy all the stuff I want for a fair price (the problem is, I wont be able to request replacements if something doesnt work when I arrive, but still worths ;o, thats why Im looking for the "best possible choice")

Making long short:

Money: No specific limit, if the hardware is expensive but has some freature that justify the price, I'm fine with it, but I'm looking for a misc of Performance/Value for money

Computer use: Gaming / Overclocking (more like learning how to do it, I would love to say "enthusiast", but I guess thats only for people who know what they are doing already )

My actual config is: i7-930, x58a-ud3r rev 2.0, 3x2gb Corsair XMS3 1600mhz, GTX470sc, Corsair hx650w, Corsair SSD 120gb Force Series, 1tb Seagate 720rpm, case Thermaltake Shark

At this point people will be thinking "why are you selling that comp if you want to learn how to overclock / gaming..." Well, as I said at the start, the prices here are 2x / 3x higher, so, I will be selling this computer for a fair price and this upgrade will be almost free (I can't waste the oportunity to update the hardware for "free").

This is what I have in mind, but as you can see, I don't know what to pick ;[. HELP (What are the best options)

Case: Corsair Carbide 500R, Corsair Graphite 600T White Version or HAF X (I really don't know yet ;o)

Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth p67 / Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 / Gigabyte P67A-UD7 (looking for a motherboard that has the internal USB 3.0 connector, SATA III and is good for overclocking, the 2x pci-E 16x (for SLI) would be a plus, not a must have)

CPU: i5 2500k (this is the only piece that I think I'm sure...)

RAM: Dunno yet, I would like to get 2x4gb 1866mhz or higher, but I dont know how the speed / latency helps or even what brand / model to pick!

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100 or a Noctua NH-D14

PSU: Corsair AX850W (I think this isn't a necessary upgrade, but, since I don't know when I will have another chance to get it... I tough 850W would be enough for a few years ;o)

GPU: Evga GTX 570sc (A friend of mine bough this for me already, so I can't change it unless there is a huge problem with it that I'm not aware off... I hope there isnt)

SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 120gb

HD: Prolly getting a Seagate / WD with SATA III since mine is SATA II

I was about to start ordering the items when I started reading the reviews from people who bought the motherboard (on newegg) and they were having problems to wake up from hybernate / sleep (caused by the motherboard, a 31 pages topic on the asus boards), so I decided to come to the forums ask for help!

Well, thats my main idea, nothing is write on rock, I just want to get a good build, thats why I'm here! to get help =D

ps: I Hope this is the right place for this kind of topic D:

Im sorry for the long post

I think what you've got looks pretty good. I haven't heard about the sleep problems with the Sabertooth, I have the P67 Deluxe and it resumes from sleep perfectly, I never turn it off just put it to sleep. All your other choices look solid, wouldn't bother upgrading the HDD though probably not worth it, you could even stick with the same memory just use 2 sticks, but it sounds like you are itching for a whole new rig.

Looking good mate. HDD prices have gone up, but if you wan't a good SATA III HDD a WD Caviar Black would be a good choice. It's the only one I can recommend as it's the only SATA III HDD I have ever used and I can say that it is super fast

Yup I definitely agree. The WD Black drives are great for speed and also for the OS. Since prices have gone up, you can split up the drive into partitions to separate the OS from the separate parts where you can store your files and other data for the time being. If you have an older storage hard drive around, like a 1TB Green SATA 2, then it will be great for extra storage capacity. It wouldn't matter if it's slow speed since you'll mostly be saving or doing back up of data to that drive. Everything else looks good.
