Hi everyone at OC3D
I'm currently looking to purchase an Uninterruptible Power supply (UPS) for my PC that has a Corsair AX850 PSU. I have been considering this UPS, the CyberPower Value GP 1500VA Line Interactive UPS. In the area where I live I don't get that many power outages but have still had work lost a few time because of them. The main reason for getting one is to feed clean power into my PSU as I still have voltage spikes and brownouts in my house. The inbuilt surge protection is also something that would be handy. The thing I am not sure about and have heard that many others are not clear about is the waveform when the UPS switches to battery. This particular UPS has a Simulated Sine Wave at 230Vac +- 5% not a pure sine wave as present on many more expensive UPS units. As the Corsair AX850 and most modern PSU have Active Power Factor Correction and I'm not sure if it will accept the Simulated Sine Wave. Is it ok for me to run this UPS with my configuration if I'm not relying on the battery too often? I have a GTX 580 and an I7 2600K at 4.2 GHz, 2 monitors and would also be connecting the phone and router to the UPS so that I still have internet and phone available even if the power went out.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
