Looking for a replacement for my P6A turtle beach

Hey guys my dad is currently in the middle east and is looking for a headset as well as a better keyboard to go with my new PC :).
I was just wondering what your thoughts are on surround sound headsets for gaming and music ( periphery, TesseracT )
My dad was looking at some Razer Megalodons and I was leaning towards astro A40/50's If I can find them and a S.T.R.I.K.E 7 keyboard (Around 120$ over there :D) What are your thoughts on a good headset with mic for gaming with?

I mostly play Counter strike source, battlefield 3 Ect and need some nice positional preferably 7.1 surround headphones. Im currently stuck using the Asrock z77 OC formula's onboard Realtek 898 Codec.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

The reason I need to replace the headset is due to the plastic snapping on my head after a month or 2 so I need something sturdier

Well I've just used two headsets
the Roccat Kave, which I can't recommend at all (very heavy and certain parts break easily)
and my current one, the Steelseries Siberia V2 USB, which I really like and recommend

I was looking at the Siberia V2 because so many people recommend it. Atleast if I get a replacement I will stop getting cuts and bruises from my p6A as it literally snaps and swings into my face every time I get a replacement :(

I have had 3 replacements so far and they are a couple months apart and still the same issue\
Im thinking about the corsair 1500 or the Logitech g35 or 930. Only problem is that im not in Dubai with my dad so I don't know what the stores are selling as half of them don't have websites

Astro is not woth the money, just look on their forums and all you see are complaints. The Siberia V2s seems very good and maybe something from Sennheiser ,PC 360s are their top "gaming" model but should still perform very well for music.

What's your budget..?
Also, are you more of a casual gamer just in it for the fun, or are you proper hardcore..? If you're serious, it might be worth getting a soundcard/proper headphones...

Im looking at getting into Esports with a few mates for league of legends and Counter strike source. My budget is between 0-300$ with 100-200 being the ideal price and available in Dubai as my dad is in the navy and is going to Dubai in a few weeks.

I used to scrims with a friends whos in Australia's Cod 4 CGI League which is the second best league :D

The Razer megalodon and tiamat 7.1 are available there and I am also looking for a keyboard in the 100-200 range aswell that is available in Dubai. such as razer deathstalker ultimate or blackwidow ultimate as the conversion saves us around 20-100$ :D

promod!!! but i guess CGI doesn't have a whole lot of people in australia

theres a few teams but not too many. Im just wondering what headset I should get with a quality mic and preferably 7.1 audio.

Also I got 6325 as a combined score for the new 3dmark Firestrike extreme benchmark. is that good?

siberia v2
Thanks seeka  im just trying to find a store in Dubai now and I must say its an uphill battle
Ive tried to get my dad to purchase a K90 vengeance and im looking at a replacement for my razer naga mouse as its 3 years old and I was going to get a KONE XTD.

Which Siberia v2 do you recommend there is a black one with usb 7.1 soundcard and there's the frost blue which is stereo USB. Which one would help the most in gaming? Including the standard 3.5mm jack Siberia's?

I have watched many reviews that say the Corsair 1500s are great and I like the look of the EQ. What are your opinions?

there are two versions of the siberia v2. the stereo one (there is no point in getting that) and the 7.1 version. both the frost blue and the normal headset can be bought in both versions.

A couple of reviews said the frost blue doesn't have its surround sound but on amazon the corsair 1500s are 80$ whereas the V2 surround sound versions are 100. Is the sound quality of the Siberia V2 comparable to the corsair 1500?

no idea, never used a corsair headset. but i am very happy with the quality of both the mic and the speakers in this headset, and ofc it has the looks. which nobody gives a damn about because there is nobody watching me sit at my desk anyways lol

The Mic in the Siberia looks fantastic, I absolutely love the fact that its retractable so it does not have to be in front of the face all of the time :)
Which edition of the Siberia do you use? Also how is the comfort of it?
I have read that many people feel a clamping sensation with the corsair 1500 so I am going in the direction of either buying it any way or going a Siberia V2.
The megalodon is quite comfortable going by reviews and the sound quality is on par with the 1500. but at the cost of 130$ it essentially is wasting 50$

Only issue being that with the 1500's the k90 and a G9X MW3 mouse (which is selling for 38$ for some reason) it comes to 255$ but with the Siberia usb it should be around 265-270$ and im not 100% sure what the budget is. It looks like I cant go over 300$ which takes the roccat Kone XTD right out of business as well as the RAT 7 :(

Does the steel series have an Equalizer software? so I can change position of the 7.1 etc. if it does I am completely sold :)

i have the siberia v2 white usb 7.1 version, at first it was quite uncomfortable after a while since i have a rather big head, but after a week or two i didn't even notice it anymore. it does have a very extended software as well, so yea you have equalizer options. like i said before, mic and sound quality is just outstanding, a lot of rather expensive headsets have a terrible mic (razer tiamat). if you want to be on the save side definitely go for it. i really can't tell if it's better or worse than the corsair headset, i haven't read any reviews about it and i haven't used them either.

My dad just needs to find it there but if he cant then the megalodon would have to be it. Amazon deos not ship the Siberia's or Plantronics gamecom 780s to Australia but does for corsair 1500s and megalodons

Also pricing for megalodon over there 595 dirhams which is a clean 158$ (28$ inflation) blackwidow 555 dirhams (140 something whichs is a 30$+ inflation over amazon USA)
