Looking for a new mouse

Hey guys I just need some help on finding the perfect mouse to support my pending peripheral overhaul

I currently have had my Razer Naga molten edition for over a year and a half and it is starting to show its age. The Mouse wheel does not respond to clicking as much as it used to and my left mouse button double clicks a lot when a only click once

I am overhauling my peripherals to better suit my current needs, which is mostly 3D modeling and rudimentary programming and game testing for MMO's.
(which I currently have 15 tests on my schedule).
I currently have the Logitech G105 and the Tritton ax720 headset which does not work correctly.

Im thinking of getting the Corsair K95 vengeance Mechanical Keyboard and the Corsair 1500 Headset and possibly a corsair M65 but I have heard that there is an issue with the Avago 9800 that corsair has not released a firmware update for unlike Roccat has. The gigabyte Aivia krypton looks nice with all of those interchangeable weights

Could anyone suggest any other good mice? I have also looked at the Mionix 8200 and it seems that it has amazing review scores

I bought Sensei about 2 weeks ago, and unfortunately I had to send it back after 3 days, as its just stop working... Now I'm still waiting on replacement
But it feel nice, and sensor is very precise.

Im a mouse junkie and buy a new one about twice a year. The SteelSeries Sensei is a superb mouse but its kinda smallish. Not too bad but if you like a bigger mouse, its not for you.

The Razer DeathAdder was my all time favorite tied with the Logitech G9 but I recently bought the new DeathAdder 2013 and it is not alone in my #1 spot! This thing is just outstanding! It is the most accurate mouse Ive ever used and just a tiny bit behind my DeathAdder 3G in comfort (I like the feel of the smooth finish of the 3G but the matte finish of the 2013 is fine)

If you like a larger mouse, the Logitech G500s or the G700s would be ones Id recommend. The G700 is wireless but you can hook the wire up and use it wired but the cord is the thickness of a garden hose and a lot of people dont like it. The G500s would be the one Id prefer but the thing with both the 500 and 700 is the sensor is in the front of the mouse as opposed to other mice with the sensor more in the middle. It kinda bugs me but thats mainly because I swap them out every couple weeks to change things up.

I havent tried any of the Corsair mice but people seem to like them so theyd be worth a shot. But If I had to pick 1 for you, Id strongly suggest you check out the DeathAdder 2013 and see if you like it. I absolutely freaking love mine!

I have a friend who uses the DA 2013 he was in Phetz gaming who were the 4th best COD 4 team on Cybergamer invitational. How deos the sensei, avia krypton and the death adder 2013 compare to eachother or the Naos 8200? I mainly use Palm grip btw

If you use a palm grip, you probably would like the DA better than the Sensei. The Sensei is a little shorter than the DA but is more narrow and is better suited for a fingertip or claw type grip. Definitely check out the G500s if you like a palm grip. The guys that like the bigger mice love that one. The DA will still work with a palm grip but its shorter than the G500 or G700 and if youve got long fingers, the taller mouse might be better suited for you. Ive got large hands but stubby fingers so the taller mice arent as comfortable for me.

Honestly, from my experience Razer quality isn't all that good :L

I have a Roccat mouse personally (Kone [+]) and I love it. Had it for 2 years now and the only thing that's not as new anymore is the coating, which is to be expected after 2 years of daily use.

Corsair usually offer good quality products, and if something breaks, they have excellent RMA service

Roccats are very well built and very comfy, I find razor gear to be one of those brands that is WAY overpriced and is very poor build quality, I hear people replace them yearly in some cases.. which frankly i find disgusting from something touted as a gaming periferal. I don't know how or why they are so damned popular, but, that's life isn't it.

My vote is for Roccat Kone (or one of the other versions of this)

I like Razer products. I own a BlackWidow Ultimate, DeathAdder 3.5G, DeathAdder 2013, Carcharias headset and even a couple Goliathus mouse pads and have never had a problem with any of them. I love my BWU so much that I bought another one when my 3 year old fried the first one with a cup of juice.

I think there is a lot of bandwagon hate for Razer because they're flashy and sold in Best Buy. I am pretty big into car audio competition and it's the same there. Kicker is a well respected brand but now aren't because Walmart sales some of their stuff. Alpine has been a premier brand since the early 90's but lost a lot of credibility when they started selling their stuff in Best Buy. Once a brand gets sold in big mass markets, they seem to lose some of their "cred" and seem to be more open to complaints.

Logitech doesn't seem to be affected by this but that may be because they offer superb customer service while it's easier to get a lunch date with Obama than get hold of a customer service rep from Razer. And Logitech's stuff looks more "authentic" where Razer stuff is all glossy and flashy with a bunch of lights. This always draws the ire of purists and makes them open to a little more hate.

that is not true.my mamba is working perfect after 3.5 years! it cost a lot but i also use it from bed,browsing,volume etc.otherwise i would just have bought a deathadder or logitech g500.and no other mouse was avaible with no lag in wireless mode.a friend has daily problems with the sensor on his SS Ikari laser ,so based on that i will just say that steelseries is bad ? nope.

After all this time,you can`t go wrong with SS,razer,logitech,mionix and roccat.they make good mice. if you want the best ergonomics and excelent precision get the mionix naos or the deathadder .

Well hurray for you! I'm not plucking shit out of the air, of the various people I know, who have used Razor periferals, I've tried them, tested them and they felt cheap and overpriced. I'm pretty sure they're all using other stuff now because they have mostly all since broken, so sorry I think it is true based on my experience of this brand.

Did I say it was based on one person ? nope.

Just because one person has something that lasts a long time it doesn't stop the brand from feeling like cheap shit plastic and glammed up LED rubbish. They put a premium price on it and it's still crap.


Same with their headsets. I had the pleasure of borrowing one to test it, the mic was absolutely atrocious. They completely re-engineered the soundfield and were awful to use. The mic's are well known to break and snap off and are made cheaply yet a pair of these things costs £200+ explain that to me?

I haven't formed my opinion out of nothing, every experience of Razer products I've had except for the Sphex mouse mat has been a terrible one.

I currently use the Razer Naga the mouse hasn't been too bad over the past 2 years and it has done what it has supposed to do during my MMO tests but I have heard that some of the other products have issues. I will definitely Keep the Roccat Kone XTD on my list as well as that mionix naos due to its Lovely Palm grip ergonomics .

With the Roccat kone XTD does the easy shift button take up the Side buttons?

I like the fact that Roccat and Mionix have released their respective firmware updates to fix the avago 9800's input lag issues that I have heard about

With the Kone XTD, Naos 8200 and the SS sensei do I need to purchase a specific mousepad type to get the highest surface quality?
