No, that just means people fear change.

I am sorry I fail to see what the one has to do with the other. I was saying that the whole power of a computer is in its ability to work with numbers, and if your competitors product is better at it, supposedly, and you point it out it is not very smart. Now this reminds me of a joke ...

The way you said it made it sound like number of PC's owned by people vs. number of Mac's. I understand what you meant now.

Aye true but then as I said windows will have things that have similar applications.

I'm not a fan of either OS in particular, but I do find it amazing when people say "*insert OS name here* is far better"

Why would you find it amazing ? I don`t think there`s many of us that use an OS out of choice, more out of the fact that we have to.

I just disagree with all the people who slag off windows that's all.

Don't like it use Linux...need to play games then use it. Windows makes games work unless the game designer writes em badly (BF2).

Imma stop here cause now people will start slagging MS off for wanting to make making money: what a crime

I totally agree with Kemp on that one, actually I agree with a lot of the different posts.

IMO OSX as an operating system is better than Windows. Yet I use Windows because it supports the majority of the games and apps that I run. Now if I could run all of those same exact games and programs under OSX and were given the choice of OSX or Windows, I'd without a doubt choose OSX.

Windows is by no means a bad OS, look at where it's taken the world of computing! Did I mention I absolutely love Vista :D

I believe I would too. But then it would be like windows and people would slag off OSZ no end...update every year etc

Deffo best version of Windows evar IMO.
I don't know, it's not only eating memory here, but it's starting to slow down, xp took about 6 months to slow down like this, vista's taken less than two :\.

I'm running 6000 atm, don't think I had it with rc2 either.

6000 is RTM correct? That's wierd, I wonder what they did with it to make it all start degrading so quickly? I'll keep an eye on mine and see if I notice it.

I found these vids funny for a reason, and that's because Mac decided it wanted to go on the offensive against its competitor... Billy-boy and Microsoft.

I'm an original, rarely follow the crowd, dyed-in-the-wool libertarian (classic liberal), but when you talk about operating systems only one stands out... Windows. Why? Choices. Not "choice", plural. I followed the crowd, and it was the right choice. Besides, why pay for a Mac and its OS when 99% of the world is running Windows? So I can be 'cool'?! Pffft, tell me another...

Said it once, I'll say it again... if Mac OS X was top dog, hackers would give it hell like they do Windows. The day Apple has more OSes being used than Microsoft, hackers will make swiss-OS-cheese out of it, it's just not worth their while right now. Then we'll see the same complaints about Mac OSes that we see about Microsoft Windows... spam this, hacked that, hit John Kerry with a wiffle-ball bat...

Windows is sooooo buggy!

?

The way I see it, a lot of companies make software for the Windows OS, think they get it right every time? I have WinDVD, and I wish I never bought it. I'd rather have my old version of PowerDVD, WincrapDVD crashes on me every other time I fast forward through a movie. But let's blame MS...

And lets not forget hardware companies that make drivers and BIOS for Windows; they work great out of the box, flawlessly. (If you believe me, I have some ocean-front property in Kansas. Call 1-555-GULIBLE.)

Now I feel like shooting Alex St. John...

It is true that Microsoft has the most commercial software for it and is the most popular operating system for desktop computers. This hardly is a reason for saying it is the best OS. Windows is the only operating system, out of Windows, OSX and Linux that can lock up because a program crashes. Also as you say there OSX would be a much larger target for hackers if it was more popular than Windows, but that doesn't mean it would be hacked as much.

Also Creative mp3 players > Ipods hehehehehe

I remember being told not so long ago that macs hardly do anything you want to (no drag and drop, random turn offs) unless this was propaganda

Off to bed tata

That`s the problem aint it, no matter how good/crap an OS they come up with, u have to buy it. - doesn`t make it the best OS tho either.

That`s also the problem with the company `just wanting to make money` - it matters incredibly little how good an OS it is - lemmins have to buy it.

There`s no point in throwing the arguement in about using Linux\OS2\OSX, cos u can`t, that part of competition has been all but killed off.

In an off the wall statement in another thread, all the Mafia wanted to do was make money.

EDIT: Knowing what I need to know, the initial `hacking` of windo$e was coz the kids didn`t like it or m$. Ethically more than anything.
