Logitech has announced their first ever silent mice, allowing PC users to click freely without disturbing anyone else.

While this is a cool idea, I bet it's strange in use, the tactile 'click' is strange to not have. I used to be an avid believer in no haptic feedback on phones, but since getting my edge I can't use it without it... :S then again, that was compared to a one plus one, with a motor that audibly buzzed loudly with every haptic feedback it did...

Agree. That's why I almost pulled for blue switches when choosing a keyboard. It must be some phycological feeling of accomplishment. Who doesn't like to here a noise when pushing the recipients button (hello)

Clicks I can handle, most people don't click much, it's more typing. If there's one thing that should be silent on a mouse it's the f'ing scroll wheel...

I own the Logi MX Master, and the scroll wheel is quite quiet. Totally so with the (o so lite) ratchet disabled.

I think I know which one you mean, and it's not really my kind of mouse I was more getting at the 'at work basic mouse' type of mouse. I know there are silent ones, but the Dell jobbies at work, just .. sound like someone's grinding something up every time someone does a top to bottom scroll.. argh!

For 3D modelling? No, unless in ZBrush.
For texturing sometimes though it's mostly procedural now.

I think I know which one you mean, and it's not really my kind of mouse I was more getting at the 'at work basic mouse' type of mouse. I know there are silent ones, but the Dell jobbies at work, just .. sound like someone's grinding something up every time someone does a top to bottom scroll.. argh!

The M500 is actually an office mouse. I found it pretty useful and the silent mouse wheel was a God send. Wish others in the office used it though.
