live case

can anyone point me in the right direction please, my pc is running fine but recently getting shocks from the metal desk, i have isolated the pc from the desk and tested the case which is showing a voltage leak, where should i start looking i'm thinking maybe the psu could be faulty?

Id say its static as my grandad has a metal top on his work benches and its a bugger for static shocks, if you realy want to test you could unplug your tower from the wall for 30 mins and then use it like you would be using your pc for a little while, if it keeps shocking you it would be just static.

prolly staic as every one says, as PSUs have thier chasis grounded, and the case is grounded becuase its touching the PSU case. so any voltage leaks will hit the chasis and get conducted straight to the mains ground.

if u got a multimeter, set it to continuity test (the one where if both nodes short it will beeep), then unplug the mains from the wall and touch one of them to the earth (the one in top middel) and one on case to check its earthed properly
