Linux Debian Resolution

Hello all,

Just installed Linux Debian Standard version (Has no GUI just command line).
I have a little problem the resolution is to big and the edges are being cut of, I know about editing the xorg.conf but that isn't there because there is no GUI. How would I change the resolution of the command line? Google only seems to come up with editing the xorg.conf.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for reading,
Antony :)

edit: Forgot to mention i'm running an AMD 7770 outputting via HDMI

Thanks I will give that ago and see if that sorts it :)

edit: I have changed the resolution but no matter what I set it to the edges are still being cut of. I have just remembered that when in windows, I have to use the overscan feature in AMD Catalyst to push out the picture to the edges, but this is the opposite of what I need to do now. Any ideas?

As far as I'm aware the only way you can do what you're asking for is via the AMD drivers once X started ie. you need the X server along with a window manager installed. Would using a really lightweight Window manager like Openbox or Fluxbox be an option?

Do you absolutely need to use HDMI? A normal DVI/VGA connection would work fine.
