I've heard good reviews on it what do you think is it worth 500 bucks for it? Or is there a price drop in the near future?

I think it is worth the money if you need it. There is also no chance of a price drop. It has only just been released!

You'd be waiting a long time for a price drop.

If you don't already own a Sandy Bridge machine, then go for it.
