It depends what overclock it is. You can overclock panel to 120Hz if it supports native 100Hz. But with new LG 34GK950G panel supports 144Hz, and overclock setting to 120Hz is for the G-Sync module. Also it depends on the monitor model. Dell Alienware AW3418DW could overclock to 120Hz in some cases. But Acer X34P has "binned" panels that always overclock to 120Hz. Basically it is complicated like monitor names.
