Hello!
I absolutely love this case; I like the elegant style of it and the new cooling technique it uses. My previous case that I had was a HAF932, I got rid of it recently because personally it was too tall, loud, and I personally didn’t like the design behind it. So after I got rid of it I was in the need of a new, High Airflow Case (and no not another HAF), instead I picked up the Silverstone RV02. At first I didn’t think this would have as good of airflow as the HAF932 due to the fact you can ONLY stick 3 180mm intake fans on it and only ONE 120mm fan as an exhaust.
Let me tell you this, this case is not for the faint of heart, or impatient, this case is a total pain in the ass to put together. Wire management is pretty decent although the back of the case were you put the wires is pretty slim and can be a bothersome. also removing the expansion bay covers require a little work, but because of that little work it makes the outside of the case look very elegant.
Now for the cool feature about this case and that is that everything is turned 90 degrees so the hot air naturally flows up and out of the case. While at first I was skeptical on how well this worked I put it together. Also let me tell you now that I have a corsair H50 which the radiator blocks the only exhaust fan. As soon as I put it together and turned it on I was first amazed by how much quieter it was to the HAF932. I was then out to OC my 5870 “which had a stock cooler” to 950core and 1275memory with 1.35v, in my HAF932 my temps were around 50 idle and 80 load, with this RAVEN RV02, "I kid you not" my temps in idle dropped to 42 degrees idle and 73 load, AMAZING drop considering I only changed the case.
Then I wanted to take a look at my CPU temps, and that was also equally amazing, (AMD 965 4.01 GHz, 1.48v). My temps in the HAF932 were at around 45c idle and 58c load. with the RAVEN, and remember my radiator is covering the only fan exhaust port, my CPU temps dropped to 38c to 41c idle and temps NEVER get above 52c. This case is truly amazing. Because of this case I had no longer needed to build my own CPU water loop, and no longer needed to replace my GPU cooler, although my GPU did fry a few weeks later.
I recommend this case over the HAF any day. And the room temp was the same for both.
I will post some pics up when my new GPU comes in.
