So guys, Christmas is coming up, and my brother has a 1TB drive in his computer now, but it is full....completely full.....so i was thinking about getting him a 3TB or a 4TB to put in it. but im not sure if this will be a headache or not? he is using a Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 motherboard, with a 955Black edition cpu. can someone tell me if i can just install a 3+TB HDD on that board without worrying about flashing the bios? The board is about 2 years old now? it was purchased soon after they came out, and the bios is the original one that came with it. should i get the 3TB or stick with a 2TB?

It should be fine. You normally only get problems if you are trying to boot from the > 2tb drive and haven't got an efi bios.
