Kingdom Come Deliverance shatters KickStarter Goal- Will it be the next Star Citizen?

once you know it you can't stop. that's like forcing yourself to not use sprint.
the whole reason i bought the game was to see how the movement would work.

erm well i wouldn't do it the cars are more fun an challenging, an i bought the game to play and enjoy not just for the movement, thats a weird thing to buy the game for

not really weird with idtech based games. there are lots of people who buy quake only for defrag, cod4 for codjumper, cs for bhop/surf/kz, etc..

Just a quick update, The kickstarter is over £900,000 now and by the looks of it may reach it's final stretch goal of £1,000,000.

The final stretch goal is a dog companion, such a silly add on but welcome none the less.

On a more interesting note Robert Space Industries, creators of the Kickstarter success Star Citizen, have now started working together in order to best use cryengine for each of their upcoming titles.

RSI will be seeing how Kingdom Comes character creation system works and Warhorse will be learning a lot of the tricks and tip RSI has learned in the past while working with cryengine.

Chris Roberts said this;
I’ve always said that independent developers should stick together, and the potential good for both games that can come from this unofficial partnership is proof positive!

The full post from RSI on Kingdom Come is here.

It's nice to see a group of developers so freely work together for mutual benefit, I hope we will see other devs follow suit and share their experience in the future.

i didn't even notice that we reached the past 4 goals.

i hope the two dev teams find a way to tame cryengine, i don't want to play on low settings just to keep my framerate over 100 to keep the game smooth.

Chris Roberts noticed the game and backed it himself.. Speaks volumes does it not?

Game seems to be doing very well! Glad to see Publishers losing all these amazing games. Should teach them a lesson.

God I hope this comes to fruition, done properly. Love me that open world single player stuff! There aren't enough of these types of games!

P.S. Is horse armor realistic? Did battle horses have armor back in the day? Serious question, even if Barnsley's post was in fun. :)

It only came about in the late middle ages, when people realized that knights were so highly armoured that killing their horse was a better strategy in battle.

as a response to this tactic horse armour, called barding, was developed to allow a knight to fight on horseback for longer.

horse armour didn't last into the early modern era though, as gunpowder made armies operate with mostly infantry, where horses needed to be both fast and agile to be able to attack infantry units before they can fire upon them too much.
