Killed my MSI P35 Neo2-FR

Well it would seem that while moving my setup from my old case to my new Coolermaster Dominator that i've somewhere along the way killed the mobo.

My guess is that something shorted it as it was quite a tight fit into the case - i've since done a bench test and the board still wont post, just powers on all fans and gfx card fan then cuts out - so looks fryed :(

Now i wasnt overly impressed with this board but it worked fine with my Q6600 G0 and thats all that mattered at the time.

I now need another board and would like to see what you guys recommend, i would like Dual Lan and SLI although the Dual Lan aint that important as it does tend to boost the price of the board up far to high for what there worth (plus i have a couple of Gig NICs kicking around anyway)

I would like a stable board for my Q6600 G0 more than anything so far the DFI IP35 card has caught my eye, but this of course has no SLI!

So any ideas?

Also on a side note any thing i should try with this dead board to really confirm its dead? I've try'd another CPU in it and it does not do anything i've also tryd to differnt PSU, one brand new that i also swapped at same time as the case (Hiper 680w Type-R II 8xUSB Jobby)

Cheers

Edit: Add picture of the zombie board, had to rip front of old case off so i could have a speaker to check for POSTing as new case dont have one :S also never like using screwdriver to start systems up!

Whats your budget mate?

Id say got for a 790i board and some DDR3 if you want SLI. But it will cost more than a pretty penny.

Not wanting to change anything else other than the board so was looking at the 680/780's for SLI and P35's for non-Sli

Really dont want to spend over £100, it would be nice to go DDR3 :) but i dont see the performance is worth the £££

Plus system was running fine for me :D just need a new board - only reason im looking at SLI is because it would be cheap for me to pick up another 8800GTS and chuck that in for the giggles in a few months.

Ok, i think your best bet would be forget SLI tbh. And if you want a dual card solution grab a X2 in the future. 6/780i + Quad core is generally a fail.

Having said that however check out this. Which seamed to do well with the quad and can now be picked up for £85ish.

I was looking at the Dimond version of that board as a certain crappy online retail has some of them in there clearance stock for £78.

Still itching towards the DFI board though

you sure, you have tried resetting the bios, take battery out for a few mins just in case, well the usual...

Yep been though all that and it does not post at all, just power cycles then restarts.
