Keyboard suggestions

Went through mouse and mouse mat yesterday, thought I may as well complete the set and get a keyboard.

I've ordered a puretrak talent and the M60 mouse.

Budget is kind of flexible but I'd prefer to stay as low as possible, and I'd quite like colours to match with the blue LEDs in the mouse, and backlights are cool anyway.

Any ideas? What's half decent?

Been playing BF3 recently and I only really play FPS games.

I quite like the sound of a mechanical keyboard ;) but dont really want to pay loads for one just because it's mechanical, and so the K90 does fit all these criteria, but it is a little pricey.

Thanks in advance!

What's your budget?

Oh, and i thought the K90 was pricey at first, but now i've got one i can truly say that it's more than worth it. I think it might just be the best keyboard around atm.

Don't buy a new keyboard until you have had a play with some mechanical keys. Reds and Blacks are meh, browns are epic and blues for typing.

Different colour switches are good for different uses. Well, really it all comes down to personal preference. As for how to get a 'demo sesh' on some keyboards...I really don't know. PC world don't really stock a grand variety of mechanical gaming keyboards, unfortunately!
Hypothetically, you could buy from Amazon and take advantage of their AMAZING return policy...but...you know...hypothetical.

Could also hypothetically get my mate to order it for me on his Amazon prime account so I wouldnt even have to pay shipping...

I think tbh, I'm not that picky about things to go through the effort of sending it back. I'd just be getting something that you lot recommend in the first place and not even think about sending it back. It's not exactly gunna be worse than my current microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard.

Also, I did actually try one in PC World today. It was a £110 Razer Blackwidow. Couldnt type on it, but the arrow keys were there to press and get a feel for it, and mechanical is something I would like I think.

I just always think with this kind of thing - ooh, this is £60 but if I spend a little more I can get a slightly better one... This cycle usually repeats until I run out of money, or there isnt anything better :)

Amazon Prime is a thing sent from the gods - it's saved me a lot of money/time.
And well, we all know that Corsair make some pretty god damn amazing products - I don't think you could go wrong with a K90. One thing I would say, try to order through Amazon. Corsair's RMA system is a little slow, so when my M60 died I just returned to Amazon - they had sent me a new M60 before i'd even sent my old one off.

I dont buy enough of Amazon to warrant me buying prime. Easier just to sponge of mates anyway. Plus, I've always thought it sounds too much like a new Transformer :/

Dont Corsair send you the sticker saying STOP send this back to Corsair not the retailer?

It probably wont be for a few weeks anyway, although if the M60 coming tomorrow is good then I may suddenly want more gaming toys to play with :)

Yup, they do. But after 4 days of having my emails ignored, I decided to to do the same to them.
And I have a glitched account - Amazon gave me a free demo of prime, and it never ran out :D

Really good now. Had a few issues getting it to work properly with macros and BF3...and enabling hardware playback stopped me changing any DPI settings. But nevermind :) I'll probably have gone off BF3 soon anyway and be onto something else
