How much of a performance would I benefit from this upgrade (Gaming) ? That's the main thing tbh..

If your spending that amount of money you could upgrade to X99 for the same price dude ;)

Bear in mind that the priced for the skylake CPUs are Hyper inflated right now.

Ebuyer have a Pre-order for £269 and it is at CCL for £289.99 right now.

Dice you put a dual channel kit with X99 and gave him slower memory to boot. Not 1:1 comparison really.

So what I'm hearing is, I should just upgrade to x99 if I was to do that I would just buy the 5930k for me the i7 5820k feel's cheap out of the 5000 seires I know that sounds silly but it's how I perceive things lol, I was just thinking this is only my Gaming rig nothing els yes the CPU will help out with the power running 2560x1440... I'm seeing as I dont really want to spend a grand for now just want something that is newer and faster than my old rig. I will look around for the best prices I only did Overclockers bc I was already on the website haha... Mind blown haha xD

Fixed, Could have sworn I clicked on the quad channel kit ^_^

If you went X99 it would cost you around £30 more and you would get more, More cores, More PCI-E lanes etc....

I can honestly not see the point in getting Skylake as X99 costs just £37 more :)

If your a gamer then I can't really see the point in getting either right at this moment. I don't see any pressure to upgrade from Z77 just yet.

JR has a point.

At this moment in time you'll only be upgrading to upgrade if that makes sense ;)

Yeah mate, you'd be spending 500+ quid and get the exact same performance in gaming as you do now. I'd keep the Ivy Bridge a while longer.

Yeah Skylake seems really useless to me with how expensive it is, especially if you're already on a 3770k and the 'enthusiast' platforms (X79, X99, etc) have always been overkill and unnecessarily expensive for gaming, so with Skylake being as expensive... I'd just wait for a bit.
