Target CPU frequency is 4.5-4.6ghz
Target GPU frequency is 1050/1750 (7ghz effective)
Target ram frequency is 2133-2400mhz

Would not be bad for a notebook I think :D

Certain modifications will be needed to support the higher thermal requirements.

All thermal pads will be replaced by either 0.5mm phobya or phobya XT pads, the thermal paste will be replaced with IC diamond and depending on temps I may cut vent holes into the cover. There are also a couple of other tricks I intend to try.

This project is on hold, waiting for the GT60 3k edition. Final specs will include.

MSI GT60 15.6" 2880x1620
Core i7 4930MX
GTX 780M 4GB GDDR5
4x4GB 30nm Samsung DDR3
Steelseries multi colour backlit keyboard
Brushed aluminium finish
3x120GB mSATA raid 0 + 1TB data drive
Bluray drive
240W custom modified PSU

you want to build laptop and you are aiming for nearly 5GHz? good luck, that thing will be hot as hell. also i am not sure if a 240W PSU is gonna cut it.

Hmz, since the haswell reviews that does have to be revised, more in the 4.5-4.6 region.

If the 240W starts to sweat to much I'll move into the 300-330W region but this one is ok with a 680M at 1180/2650 and a 3940xm at 4.2ghz.
