Kali 2 - A rebirth

I could have ordered it from europe.... for £200, so I also used some spare amazon US vouchers I had from my AMD beta tester days.....

Balls they mislabelled the connector :/

Still its the right kind of adaptor so I have stripped the connector and will attach the right one myself.

All done.

Well that thing earns the nickname "Power-Brick".

You must own the most powerful laptop ive ever heard of ;)

Look out for the P370EM, with a pair of 680Ms at over 1ghz, a 3920XM at 4.5ghz it's going to destroy most desktops.

Just read through the thread, pretty interesting. Surprised to see the shock on the power cable. OEM ones are just as expensive if not more, the only ones that are cheaper are the crappy universal ones. How's that connector holding up?

Well turns out its not perfect, infact the tip just melted its plastic sleve and shut off my system :/

Obviously not acceptable so I have looked at the unit and it can be opened (with the correct anti-tamper torx screwdriver (6 point star with a centre pin)) I have ordered a pre-fitted tip cable and will solder that straight into the main unit which should ensure good connection.

I had a feeling it might do that lol

My solder was up to the job (still firmly attached even after the heatup), I believe the tip itself was to blame.

Current state of my PSU lol, just waiting on the new lead.

Dissassembly needs a T10 security torx screwdriver (hollow 6 point star), a soldering iron (for disconnecting the ground plate) and a flat head to work the tape (the glue is not a trouble).

Ok I removed the two prongs from the default cable, put the new one in, check the voltage and plugged it in.

All good so far :)

I tell you though, they were a pain to get out, delta really did make this unit well.

Just an update to say the new cord is performing great, no issues at all.

Also expect Kali 3 at some point............
