Build is currently in the design phase. So far the specs look to be:

MSI 16F3 barebone with unlocked bios.
3940XM (bios overclocking)
Gtx680m 4gb (unlocked es bios for 1ghz + core clocks)
8gb ddr3 2133mhz hyper-x sodimm
2x256gb crucial m4 ssd
Dvd-rw + external Bluray
1920x1080 matte display
Custom modified 230w delta power brick

Im now working for *removed* so I am using their 16f3 based 11:36-680 shell for this.

It's still my machine and money however :p

Any thoughts on this build?

It's got better control over certain features.

The fan profiles can be fully customised along with the CPU settings and memory timings exposed in the unlocked bios.

Ok that's the machine ordered

One tweak I might make is a swap of the included 2.5" bay adaptor for the dual mSATA unit from a GT60, if the person agrees I could raid a pair of cruical M4 256GB mSATA drives in there.

Otherwise it's as I said.

Slight change, i'll be grabbing a single 512GB OCZ vector instead.

TRIM does work over raid, but either I have to get 2x256GB m4 MSATA or be stuck at sata II for the 2.5" drives.

A single vector will give much better small file performance and higher write performance.

First piece:

Shiny!

Thanks for your show of interest guys, i'll be sure to document the entire process as I strip and re-do all the heatsinks, the firmware updates and the overclocking.

Nice name for the rig. Now we need someone to make "The Jesus Christ 1 - The Resurrection." Put a custom watercool in it, have a priest bless the water, and use a silver cross to kill the conductivity.

edit: It would need to be a flawless rig with only one "downside". Being uncomfortable on adult websites.

Well I went with this one as it may change, but at no point die, wait a few days and have me bring it back to life again :p

I have ordered a couple more bits, a 240W slim alienware brick and another 5.5mm*2.5mm cable to replace the cord with.

I will use the dell slim brick as my travel adaptor once I have modded it as my Asus brick is rather huge

LOL the guy sending the cable sent the wrong one :( This is bad because it makes me want to buy a universal adaptor, salvage the cord and converters and use it on the alienware brick as a universal slim 240W brick

Modification of the Dell slimline 240W brick:

Take out the screws:

Squeeze the middle of the side of the unit and pull the lid to remove it:

Remove the tape and unsolder the points that connect the shield to ground:

Unsolder the leads to the main cord.

Insert new cable and solder it in

Resolder shield

Re-tape sheilds

Re-construct unit and tape end if required to ensure a tight fit
