Just to confirm... (TX650M Capability)

[font=tahoma,geneva,sans-serif]Hey all.

Recently I made a thread regarding what type of PSU I'd need to run my spec (found below) but instead of my current GPU (5770) there would be a theoretical 7950. I got some appreciated feedback and went ahead and purchased a new PSU, this Sunday just gone.

I've gone for the Corsair TX650M, now although it was advised to go for the... HX / AX range (I THINK!) my budget couldn't stretch that far.

Would this PSU be plentiful to run a 7950 overclocked? (No overvolting, if I'm lucky enough, just maxed out CCC)

Oh, and just so you know, my old PSU finally died on the Saturday just gone. Unfortunately I have no spare-powerful enough PSU to power my system to ensure the PSU didn't take any other components with it. So praise the electrical lords that it's just the power supply that died.

Quick mini spec list:

i5 760 @ 3.4 GHz

4x2GB 1600MHz ram (xms3)

1 HDD

3 120/140M Casefans

1 200M + Casefan

5770 Current/ 7950 Planned.

Edit: A quick cheeky question, answer with your preffered method)

PSU BOTTOM Mounting:

1) Fan down

2) Fan Up

A 650W Corsair will be plenty for your setup + a single 7950 even with extra voltage through it.

Scan have the TX-M for £80, HX for £95 and AX for £110, IMO the extra £15 for the HX over the TX-M isnt really worth it as both are bronze rated, if you can stretch to the AX the gold rating will help a little with power bills for the full life of the unit.

And i have fan up to hide the fugly info sticker on the bottom of my AX850, that and its a pain in the ass to get at the power supply dust filter on my cosmos where it is on my desk so its just easier to have it fan up so i dont have to bother trying to yank it forward on the floor of my case while trying to not knock my GPU.

@ Hunta - Thanks for the reply mate, I feel at ease now.

Just awaiting for the little beggar to arrive!

Edit: It's here, and wow the build quality is leaps and bounds higher than my previous PSU. Very pleased so far, just hope that everything else is OK!
