Just got a 780, problems with windowed mode in triple display *no surround*

Hi.

My 7970 died so I just got an Asus GTX 780. I connected my three displays (20" portrait dvi-d, 30" landscape dvi, 20" portrait hdmi), extended my desktop and my windows go from one to another just fine and in order.

The problem comes with DirectX applications: when I stretch the window to span the three displays, the center and right display show the correct area of the image, while the left display shows the right most content of the image.

Another example, if I span a 300px wide directx application between the center and the left display, leaving 100px in the left display and 200px in the center, the image in the center display is correct, while the one in the left display is the right most 100px of the image in the center display.

Examples:

Have you guys experienced this?

I have tried exchanging the connections, but seems the drivers keep remembering the displays so the layout never changes wherever I plug each display.

Cheers!

Have you tried rearranging the monitors in Windows?

I get a similar thing on my 690 when I switch between surround and Windows.

Yes, it doesn't help... I tried all the combinations.

Oh bother... Enabling Desktop Composition fixes it. This is definitely a bug on Nvidia drivers, I didn't have this issue with the 7970. Good one, Nvidia.

UPDATE: from nvidia forums: "the desktop window manager is required for multidisplay management and non-standardised driver api's to work properly". A bit of a let down, AMD cards don't need any dwm to render a window across 3 screens.
