Joypad/Gamepad suggestions

Hey guys, I've been playing mirrors edge recently and I figured I'm gonna want a new Joypad/Gamepad to truly experience this game.

Naturally the pad will be used for other games too and not thrown after I'm done with mirror's edge, so it doesn't have to be exclusive or something!

To give you a rough idea of what genre of games I prefer, here's a list:

Empire Total War, Blackshot, Burnout Paradise, CoD : World at War, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Devil May Cry 4, FEAR 2, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, GTA 4, Left4Dead, Last Remnant, Lost Planet, Mirrors Edge, Need For Speed Undercover, Red Alert 3, Red Alert 3 Uprising, Silent Hill Homecoming, Team Fortress 2, TM United Forever, CS 1.6, Dawn of War 2, Warcraft 3.

I could not find any other section to post this in, so this will have to do.

you got a 360?

if so buy the wireless crossfire thing, allows you to link up your 360 controller to the pc, i have and its great.

if not, buy a wired 360 controller, most games (that have been released on the 360) support it.

I got the Wireless crossfire thing as well, and its great! I play PES and GRID just like on the 360.

i find the 360 to be the best fealls natural and is well supported especialy for console ports

I use a 360 controller on vista. Plugs in and works. Green segment on the top flashes sometimes, not quite sure what that's all about.

U can get adapters for all the console controllers to USB these days.

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. To answer several questions, No, I do not have an xbox 360, so I do not have the wireless controller nor is the crossfire thing an option.

A wired 360 controller sounds like a nice idea, any link?

So unless Play.com deliver to Russia from here then I don't think that link does good.

Plus yeah a 360 controller is the best me thinks.

i have 360 pad too and they work better than any other pad for compatability with games but still a few games dont support them tho

Yeah but just as other people have said before, not all games have compatibilty with a cheap controller. Plus, you'll have to assign each button to a certain function in-game with every game.

Using a 360 controller, will automatically set the button configs to their X360 counterparts.

Hi guys, I'm currently bidding for the Cordless Rumble 2 by logitech over at ebay. If I win the auction, this would be my selection, if not I'll have to start looking for the xbox controller.

Anyone know anything about the Rumble 2?

if you have a wireless card (which most are on the 2.4GHz frequency) then you will get really bad wireless connections, I know this because my phone is a 2.4GHz wireless and my dad decided to stick it next to the router

Mate a wired would better since they are cheaper and need no recharging.

I already have an energizer AA battery charger with 4 batteries that I use for my camera, so I think the battery is not an issue. Unless, if using rechargable batteries are known to cause problems?

Although I've got the Logitech Rumblepad 2, I have to spend time configuring each to recognise it (and I can't always get rumble to work). I don't know what possessed me to buy it given that the XBox360 controller is plug and play in the truest sense, pretty much all recent games natively support it so no configuration is required, and it's such a comfortable device to hold.
