Can i offer up a little advice for people with problems.
A lot of people when posting a problem up do not give enough information on their problem or why they have the problem or even the spec of their equipment. I suggest that before posting a problem there a few things you could do and this will solve a lot of time and effort not only for the person who has the problem but all so for people who are willing to help.
1) System Specs.
No matter whether you think it's just 1 thing that is at fault there are all ways multiple answers to a question so it is very important to fill out as many system specs as you can. like below.
CPU:
Memory:
Motherboard & Bios:
Graphics card or cards:
Hard drives:
Power supply:
Type of cooling:
What OS and Service pack:
2) The problem
Now when describing your problem it best to give as much info about it. Just saying My PC will not turn on is no good, or What radiator should i get without knowing what your cooling is all so no good. Like Jonny 5 said one time " Need More Input ?". Here is a Good and Bad example of a post.
Bad - My computer will not start. I have tested all the wire's and nothing happens. What do i do ?
The Good - I Upgraded the bio from ver 1.21 to version 1.23 and now the pc will not boot. However during the upgrade the computer lost its power. Can anyone give me advice on how to proceed. I do have several Beeps once the board is powered on. (followed with Spec's of the PC).
3) Google is your best friend.
So you think someone you know knows everything in the world why. He probably doesn't he is just probably a good user of google
... or what i called a Google Guru. Or he / she been doing this for a very long time and has seen the problem before. If you have a problem that you cannot solve you self sometimes a very quick search on Google will help you find the answer. The chances are the question you are about to ask has all ready been answered several times before. So think to yourself before you post "could this be a common problem ?" ... All so you may find the search feature on the top of the forum may come on useful. No one of this forum will have a go for not doing this but at least you may feel a little self pride that you got the answer on your own.
4) Pictures speak a thousand words.
There was a post were some one was having a problem with his CPU . he posted a Picture of the Info and his CPU temps. Within seconds the answer was given that his CPU was too hot at 90c. this is because he posted a picture of his temperatures and it instantly showed everyone who was answering were problem lay. With that people gave good and sound advice on how to fix the problem. So think before posting will a Photograph or screen shot of my problem help and if so post one with your message.
The same goes for answering a question, sometimes people just don't understand and a serious of easy to understand screen shots or photos can help solve the problem quicker than several paragraphs of info. All so think if i was new to this game what would I respond quicker to.
More advice can be added below.
