Great first attempt at sleeving

yup found the 24pin a pain to do

Keep the updates and of course pics coming

MOAR PICS! I love my 670, you won't be dissapointed as they can outperform the 680's if you are willing to overclock a little
biggrin.png
Is the server build a dual system build?

Ps: your first time at sleeving is way more successful than mine, thus no pics have emerged and never shall

Hey guys, really appreciate it! I tried to take m time with the sleeving to make it look ok, glad people seem to agree!

Yeah, my server build is 2 systems, wanted them as cheap as possible. That way if I get more work for 3D I can just buy a couple more and just keep adding them on. Aiming for 6 total. I know I said I would start another thread, but I don't think it would be that interesting as they don't need to look fancy. So here's just a cople of pics of them.

Just attached them to the glass with sticky pads, simple but effective!

Back to my main build though, I will definitely be overclocking the 670s once EK decide to release the bloody waterblocks! In the mean time though, sleeve, sleeve, sleeve...

You sure you've got enough kit there?

Did you leave anything left for sale on the internet.

Seriosly though. Looking forward to seeing this develop, and nice job on the braiding.

Were you tempted to go stealth on it?

Haha, only a couple more things to arrive

need the 670 waterblocks from EK to be released (although has anyone seen the new EK design, not a fan at all. Hopefully I can get them in the current design). Then some fan shrouds to go on my case and finally custom backplates for the graphics cards. But that's it. I think lol.

I really appreciate everyone's comments though, hopefully I will be able to make this one stand out a little from other builds! Glad people like the sleeving too, things can only get better!

Who is it that draws these, i have always wondered.

It's Nils from MDPC-X, the sleeving place. He always draws a little picture of your username, that's why his shop is only open about 5 hours a week

puts a lot of love into his work!

Will post some more pics of sleeving this week

Oh yeah, forgot to ask, what do you mean by stealth?

Finally I can give you all an update! It took ages for the graphics card waterblocks to be released from EK so essentially I have been sitting around waiting for more bits, but hopefully these pictures will be interesting.

I'll start with a bit of an experiment I tried out. Because I want my whole build to essentially be all black and white (and a little grey) I wasn't happy with how many colours there are on the motherboard.

So I have attempted to make a motherboard cover. I started off with a sheet of acrylic from ebay, 3mm thick. actually it may be 5mm, can't remember :p

I then had to meticulously measure and draw on an outline on the sheet

Next step was to attach some blocks to the motherboard.

I then added some carbon fibre vinyl and attached it to the acrylic

now on with the graphics cards!

I also have another thread going talking about my ram blocks, but essentially I because I am using the EK Dominator ram blocks and not using EK dominator ram, some modding needed to take place. So after a couple of trips to an engineers, here is what the Mushkin Ridgeback now looks like.

So now I can actually attach the waterblocks as planned!

I know the motherboard protector isn't as perfectly cut as I would like, but I am quite happy with the result. Next time I would definitely get it professionally cut. At the moment though I will leave it as I think it makes my build stand out (whether or not you think that is for the better or worse :p )

I am now trying to plan out where the tubing will be going throughout the case. Will most more pictures in the next couple of days as it is really coming together now. I should be able to get it done in the next few days!

Looking goooood! I really like those EK blocks, shame the 670 PCB is so small. Atleast they cover the whole damn PCB! :p

IMHO you should cut down on the carbon fibre, it's a bit too much.

Personally I hate the new EK blocks style but love the short PCB haha.

Yeah I'm hoping once everything is in there that the CF doesn't just smack you I. The face as there will be tubing and wires in there to distract you, but we shall see!

Thanks for the comments :D

Those 670 looks hilarious xD

But the motherboard cover looks just awsome, great idea, only thing i dont like about it is the fakt that its covering a pic-e slot, and in my opinion it looks a bit wierd.

Mmmmm those water blocks. Can't decide if I like them or not. Definately diferent though.

Love the carbon wrapped mobo sheild. Although I think maybe the clear water blocks stick out a bit as they don't match the other gear.
