Hi all,
I was thinking of upgrading my chip to a 3570k/3770k owing mainly to PCIE 3.0 availability.
I understand theres a beta bios floating around somewhere for the multiplier to unlock on my sniper 2 mobo. Presently the F5 bios locks the multiplier.
Any experiences anybody on upgrading z68 mobos with ivy-bridge?
I also was thinking on getting some 32gb kinsgston 2400 mhz ram which can be had for 215 quid- very tempting.
Anybody has experience of running 2400 mhz ram on a z68 board, is it viable with a 4.4 ghz OC on the CPU?
I think this upgrade together with a 1TB ssd in a few months would inject at least another 3-4 yrs of life into my system as I will def need pci-e 3.0 when i upgrade the graphics in 2 yrs time.
I tend to purchase just one below the mainstream high end cards in SLI. I currently have two msi 970s and will be looking for their equivalent in a few yrs.
Thanks
