Since my laptop has finally decided it doesn't want to boot up any more.

Specs:

i7 3770K

Asrock Z77 Extreme 6

Seagate 1TB HDD, 64MB cache

XFX 750W Core Edition PSU or a Corsair TX650W V2

(GTX 670 later)

(Corsair A70 for the time being since I have one laying around, H100 later)

(Already have a Corsair 600TM laying around)

and either:

G.Skill Ripjaws-X 8GB 1600MHz

or

Corsair LP 8GB 1600MHz

They both have the same latencies and both run on 1.5V, the Corsair RAM is just £1.60 cheaper. Should I go for the G.Skill or Corsair?

...Thats your question?

Was expecting like a big decision to be made here with the title Ivybridge build, and you're struggling with the RAM type when they're identical?

Whichever one you prefer the look of if they have the same timings and frequency, it isnt gunna make any difference. If you cant decide on colours or whatever, get the cheapest, ave the £1.60 and go buy some haribo!

For gaming and everyday use only? Then ditch the i7, go i5 ^^ use the money for a SSD

^^ __ what he said..

if you do any video incoding or medium sized photoshop files.. the i7 can do a fab job.

if not, money can be spent for a SSD for overall performance
