Hi Guys

Been changing some settings on my rig. I know that 3dmark is not everything when it comes to a gaming rig just wondering what you guys think. I have an E8400 E0 overclocked to 4.2ghz and I have added a GT240 as a physx card to go with my sapphire 5850. Below are the scores with the 5850 overclocked to core-900Mhz and Memory-1000Mhz.

3DMark Vantage

Score - P18784

GPU - 16884

CPU - 28355

3DMark 06

Score - 19125

The scores look pretty good for a dual-core, but I am confused as to what you are asking.

I think the scores look very good. My i5-750 get's ~18000 with 4,00GHz. So does my 5870 at 890Mhz & 1290MHz. He got about the same 3DMark score as me. I'm a little confused about how a dual core can beat an i5-750? :S

And is this a brag thread?

Having a dedicated physx card in your machine improves your CPU score (dramatically) therefore improves your overall score. Kaptein I did not intend for this to be a 'bragging' thread. It was to highlight to those overclockers on the forum that adding a physx card improves your score for those interested in 3DMARK.

Ok. I just don't know what we're supposed to discuss. And most over clockers know that a dedicated PhysX card helps a lot, but it's nice of you to let people who are new to it know it too. Oh wait... Helps with your CPU score? Not GPU? Guess I didn't know that.

Quad cores must make a difference because on my old rig I had a q6600 at stock and I got 31-32k on 3dmark vantage and that beats your oc e8400.

With my i7 920 oc to 4ghz I get about 58k but with hyper threading I get 61k score so it must use all the cores

Yeah I reakon quads do make a difference. I am deciding on my next upgrades at the moment (only M/B, RAM and CPU) but it will be an I7 upgrade.
