It's official - Sony has revealed their PS5 Pro

:rollinglaugh: £700 and it still cannot do 4k 60fps without upscaling :rollinglaugh:

Must admit I was expecting to see "12K Gaming is here at last" just like they tried with the "8K" on the Box of the PS5 but then removed from newer boxes because it was pure BS.

I know GPU's these days are a mess because nVidia, AMD and Intel are too reliant on upscaling and so are game devs, but we have been able to do 4K 60fps on PC for over 10 years now, consoles should be doing that now without upscaling.

Where did it say it can't do 4k 60 without upscaling? Is this even bad if true? Would you be able to tell the difference sitting 10 feet away from the TV?

This comment makes less sense when you factor in the series x also runs many games at 4k60 upscaling. Most developers are doing this as the default. It's faster than trying to eek out every flop of performance.

Honestly the only stupid thing is the price. Faster memory is basically free for them. You just order a different SKU. Outside of the slight bump in price nothing changes. I can't see how this raises the costs this much especially since they also took out a $100 blu ray player.

It seems pretty clear that Sony's lost it and they think they're Apple of console business.

I really don't know who this is for. Why would PS5 owners get rid of their consoles to pay almost twice as much for a new one without a disc drive? Why would someone without a PS5 not get a cheaper version that will still run every PS5 game and that has a disc drive?

I agree. If this was a next generation PS6 or whatever then sure I guess they could get away with it... But it's not. I see no reason to buy. If they launched $100 cheaper with a disc drive I'd still think it's to expensive.
