Best I scored was 10500 with FX55 @ 3.5Ghz or X2 4800 @ 3.14Ghz - but that was before I managed to get more bandwidth from the GPU RAM.

That XT aint performing too bad at all is it - nice one.

Give it an 01 and 03 run as see what you score.

In 03 remember to hit delete when the CPU tests start (after nature) it cancels the rest of the test but will still give you a score (pro version on the cheap doing it that way).

haha thnx man, never knew that. Time to start benhcing this 9800xt again!

hehe i have all the pro versions...

but thx anyway.

03 scores just over 17000 with this dirty install. will try 01 later

Do you mean esc or does delete work too?

Sorry yes escape :o

I have pro version too - but on my image it's not unlocked and I never keep one image long enough to input the key LOL

Hey hey,

The postie delivered my XT this morning too. I didn't really see the need to start another thread about X1800's so I'm gonna post here if thats ok. Hard to believe that after all this waiting one of my cards is finally here.

Anyways, after being woken at the ungodly time of 9am and drinking best part of a gallon of coffee to snap me out of my coma I fitted the card...

It's definitley a biggun, it only just clears the SATA connectors and damn near blocks out the chipset cooler, but it all works so thats fine with me. The driver install was a bit of a sod, I really can not bare the Catalyst Control Center and would gladly go back to the original control panel given the option and having to use .net framework just to get the driver working seems like using a JCB to crack an egg.

I just did a couple of preliminary benchies at stock speed on a pretty tired XP install and here's what I got.

3dmark 03 CPU @3.3GHz, GPU @ stock

3dmark05 CPU @ 3.3GHz, GPU @ stock

I'll update as I get more results.

good to see someone else with a card aswell :)

Just shows that in 05 Mega cpu clocks dont help as i score like 100 points under u with a dirty install and 500mhz lower clock than u, but in 03 u beat me by 1000 points.

Just ran 01 and got a score of 29397

Looking good nice tidy case by the way!

:D hehe, cheers!

@ Animal, I'm sure you already have this, but I found this tool for messing with voltages and clocks. I'll admit I'm too much of a wuss to really get stuck in there so far. :p Once I'm feeling a bit more confident I'll turn up the clocks on the card and move up to benching cpu settings to see what can be done.

You're dead right about 3dm05 though, it doesn't reward the effort that goes into overclocking the CPU/RAM at all , I spose that's why 3dm01 has been so beloved.

K sorted 01, now i get 33460....

See Animal, a good overclocker never forgets ;)

JAFFA - 9000+ is a great score in 05 @ 3.3Ghz - I scored 10500 with voltmodded GTX and 3.5Ghz

What are your temps like (idle/load).

Cheers Mav, Surprising what these cards can do with just 16 pipes.

It idles at about 52c, as for load temps; there aren't any freely available tools that can log the temps thus far. I did find that while running the overdrive app in CCC that temps hit 72c at full load, however I have no idea if that represents the kind of temps that we'd see while benching and/or gaming, probably not far off though.

I've been trying to hunt down the new ATiTool 0.25.9 which supports R520 which would allow me to monitor the temps, but it seems only the select few have access to that beta at the moment (Fugger et al) Bit of a bark really, but I can wait.
