Its here !!! - X1800XT :)

Hey JAFFA...why dont u email the creater of ATI tool and ask if you can have the BETA, i cant see why he wouldnt want to give it you.

Well i just managed to dl a 0.25 version from there site, dunno if its the latest beta but this version doesnt crash my system like the latest official release does.

thing is it doesnt offer much, i will just wait for a final release..

Yeah I think thats the best policy right now Animal. I'll keep an eye out for any leaked versions and if I find anything then I'll let you know. I can't get that overclocker.exe program working properly, it only goes up to 635 core 750 mem and I'm pretty certain it would go quite a bit further if I could select higher.

I have the 0.25 beta 9 with voltage changes. I would post it here but I'm not supposed to distribute it much. Catch me on MSN if you want it. It's not on the net - you can only get it off W1zzard personally. I was using it on Justin's X1800XL today. The VGPU read point seemed to short out the card so I couldn't check voltage changes worked. Also mem clock seemed to revert back to 495Mhz no matter what we did. The x1800 tool didn't work for us either.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot to say that we tried the 5.11s and they caused crashes in 3dmark so we used the CD ones.

Wierd about that 5.11 issue, I get a feeling the drivers will need working on too, they just don't seem quite right somehow. Funnily enough the Cat 5.9 driver on the supplied disk doesn't work either.

Mine came with beta version of the 5.11's

Yeah but that's an X2 non-FM approved run?

Single core, 5.11 ATi drivers is more impressive. :p

Still, nice score and welcome to the forums.

Are the ATI drivers FM approved then for the X1800's? I do not think that they are.

It's always a diffcult one when we talk about these things - especially when we talk about FM approved etc...... unless both sets are FM approved, can we suspect that some drivers are more optimised than others?

I don't think they are but they're the official 5.11 monthly updates and they're the only official X1800 drivers. It's hard to find anything more fair to use.

I think you are right, so it would also be unfair to say that one set of scores with non-FM approved drivers are more unfair than the other regardless of the optimisations used. I take your point that the current driver-set from nvidia do have optimisations for dual core CPU's, who's to say the ATI drivers do not favour the single core CPU?

Taking into consideration that the single core CPU we are comparing is running a lot quicker than the dual core - Would it be fair to say the score comparisons are as fair as they can be?

??? That was with my 3700 SD not the X2 right about the drivers tho, thanks for the welcome :D

Looks like the orb is now accepting X1800 benches...

My first ever No. 1 in class score... well for a couple of minutes anyway. Not difficult when you're the only one with a score submitted :p
