It looks like Naughty Dog plans to Remaster The Last of Us Part 2

The game wasn't that bad. It made colossal amounts of money and for the most part was well-received.

It's a waste of resources though, The game only came out 3 years ago in June just gone. What are they going to update realistically that will be drastically different ?

It was rimmed by people who got it free. After the fact reviews were more honest.

It's a beautiful, woke, miserable game.

Still each to their own I suppose.

My toughts exactly, I mean, it will probably come to PC at the same time, maybe they're just calling slightly higher-res textures, DLSS, FSR, Raytracing, etc a remake? If that's so then I'm fine with it, they can call it whatever they want.

But really I agree it really isn't the time for a remaker of this game, and I originally defended the second remake of The last of us part 1, in fact I still believe it was great, but yeah, why remake part 2? It's incredibly great-looking already there wont be any significant upgrade to it, it's literally not possible

Remake terminology could just be a mask for "coming to PC with ""extra"" graphics settings"

Well in honesty it shouldn't be terribly hard, given it is X86 code. What would have been hard was converting the original TLOU code from the PS3 to X86 like they did for TLOU remastered.

I wouldn't say it is a waste of resources either. The payday will be immense, and the resources are already there.

The main reason is because it might come to PC.

I'll be getting it if/when it comes to PC as I immensely enjoyed the first, I'm now on my 2nd playthrough getting the collectibles and all other Steam achievements which I NEVER do.

The first was a work of art. I played it through once on my 2080ti at 1440p, then at 4k immediately after at 4k with the 6950xt.

The second? has one good bit in it, the rest is pure misery, with choices you will never believe.

I feel you, I think the only game I ever did all the achievements for was NieR Automata, I tought of doing all achievements for GoW 2019 but altough the game is really really great it is only that, a great game, NieR Automata really resonated with me so they're different. GoW wil never be regarded as high as NieR Automata for me even tough you looking at the technical side it is a "better game".

Sometimes we just find that piece of entertainment that we can relate so much with, it becomes special in it's own way.

TLOU I could only play on PS3 many years ago, I also regard it extremely highly But have still to buy and play through the remake, maybe I'll do it near the launch of part II on PC

Yeah I read a lot of the very questionable choices NaughtyDog made and it was done at a time when identity politics reached their peak so they wanted to cash in on it which IMO was not a good idea.

The only other game I've been truly sucked into was Terminator Resistance, It's not a triple-A game, Maybe double-A, Fairly basic but solidly built and very faithful to the original Terminator films aesthetic.
