Too little too late, and probably still not as affordable as AMD. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing this is good for is to force AMD to respond by making their offer even more attractive.

This is going to be interesting, The Core uArch is known to get pretty power hungry when it gets more dense (god I remember when intel was the most efficient thing we could ever think of) are they going to be able to keep the DT line of core chips in the ~100W TDP or less range with that many cores? The 9900k already pulls 150+at full load.

No one cares that much about power draw. As long as good 650W can handle it, it doesn't matter. TDP numbers that both Intel and AMD are printing on the box mean absolutely nothing at all. They are quite literally some random numbers, as GN explained recently.

Not quite correct. People do care about power draw. I certainly do, when I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world.
However you are right that whats on the box means very little, which is worse because people like me that want low draw get duped more than someone that goes for performance and nothing else.

Looks like they are going to need something incredible for the new range of i9's or we will see them move these SKU's back to the X series? if these are 6c12t my guess will be that the i7's will be the 8c16t, can we expect 10/12c 20/24t on i9's? Maybe but not on mainstream part, No way are intel going to match AMD in this sector for price, it will eat too much into their enthusiast market or should we say their 7980XE+++ range...
