Issues with Corsair AX850

Ok so I have been getting some issues with Crysis recently which I cant seem to fix but when I load one of the other versions like crysis wars or crysis warhead it runs like a dream, or so I thought.

I own a Fractal R3 case and as many of you know this is a VERY quiet case. I can hardly hear anything coming out of it. But when I play Crysis warhead or wars I could hear a faint high pitch screaming noise that seemed to be coming from my case. I took the side panel off only to reveal that the noise was FAR noisier then I had thought. After some more inspection I concluded that it was my PSU. Whats even more strange is that when I bring the console down for example, I get a different pitch scream and then when I do different things in menu I get all different pitches of loud scream. Now I have had my rig set up for less then a week and cant really seem to find what's doing it.

A friend of mine says its because I have overclocked my CPU but when I run prime I don't get a noise at all. It only seems to be when I start a game up. If I run 3d mark I do get a noise but again its slightly different. Is it the graphics card drawing to much power? I own a 570gtx so my AX 850 should be able to deal with that easy.

Any ideas guys and girls?

Your psu is big enough for that set up, and the o.c isnt the issue. To me it sounds like your psu has a coil whine. You can RMA it and get a new one, but be sure that the noise is from the psu before you ship it back to seller or Corsair.

As Azurite has said its coil whine. It all depends on the power draw from your system, and isn't related to how fast the fan on your psu is spinning.

I had some problems with the early Corsair HX620 a few years ago, I RMA'd them and got replacements without a problem. The AX850 I've got is probably the quiestest component in my system, so you should definitley try the RMA route. Which etailer did you use?

I'v had it 5 days. Its brand new lol

Yeah, I'd return it and say you want to swap it for another. Ebuyer returns are normally pretty good.
