Issue connecting monitor to graphics card. Help please!

Hey.. Just finished building my computer. I have a sapphire 7870 XT graphics card, with only a PCI-E connected to my GPU and PSU. When I power on my system, the graphics card turns on, fans spinning etc. It says "No signal" when I connect the DVI cable from my monitor to my GPU. (No HDMI) but when I connect the DVI cable to my motherboard, it works and I can access my bios. Am I missing anything? Hope to hear some quick replies because I would like to get my PC ready to go. Thanks :)

My power supply is SeaSonic G 550W modular psu.

EDIT: I asked someone over the phone what the problem might be and he said it could be anything, ram, bent pins on mobo, PSU, but I know it's not because the integrated graphics work. =/

Hi dream11 and welcome to the forums,
Have you tried reseating your graphics card ? ( take it out and install it ,make sure it's completely inserted correctly).
More info on your system might help also.

Sounds like Bios setting issue, maybe you need to set it to use the pci-e i.s.o. the on-board.

What's the hardware you're using?
