Hi guys.

Im kind of new around here, so you may have to bear with me, as its a little different to my forum i run.

I hope this is in the right place, if it isn't then please feel free to move it.

Ive been thinking of a water cooling kit for my computer for a while, and have finally decided to get one. After talking to bennywidag, he adviced me you guys were the best to buy from and that the customer service is great.

So, ive been on shop here, and have the following spec, and was just wondering if this was any good or not? Im pretty sure i want a dual bay res, after talking to phill via email. Oh, and its to cool an AMD 64 venice 3200+ overclocked at the moment to 2.6 stable. At a later date i want to add cooling for the graphics card, which is a 7800gt.

Danger Den Dual-bay 5.25" res

DD5 Laing 1/2"

Thermochill PA120.2

White Water Aluminum block

7/16th ID Tygon tubing

The res was recommended by phill, the pump becase it is powerfull yet quiet (or so im told) the rad and block im told are very good, and that i wanted a PA rad,m aparently there better than the HE? the tubing, i was told would have a more snug fit as its slightly smaller than the actual barbs etc.

Also, would you recommend, water wetter? or Zerex?

So, is that good? or is there somthing better? Bearing in mind i have a budget of around £230-£240, for everything, including fans, additives etc.

Thanks in advance

Grant

I think Phil can get hold of them just doesn't stock them. He can get hold of certain things pretty easily so if you shoot him a PM or mail him about it, he can tell you for defo, but I'd also go for the Storm block.

With water wetter and Zerex i would just go with whichever is cheapest.

Storm blocks are the way forward, a better performing design (lower temps with lower pressure drop) and copper as well so you have less worries about corrosion.

Hi G

Yer, the storm is the way to go, but it is at the moment being/ has been replaced by the apogee, which i have been reliably informed is no good. The whitewater is a good block though

ok, thanks for that, ill give him an email.

Also, any idea how much water ill need to fill it all up?

Unfortunately the Storm G4 is no longer being manufactured (or so I have been informed) so you'll have to try and grab one second hand or from surplus stock. The LRWW is a very good block in its own right but the block I am testing right now is the AquaXtreme MP-05 Xtreme, which isnt dis-similar from the G4. Certainly my initial results are as expected so this looks like it will make an excellent replacement.

I use those 5l bottles :) got about 2 1l ones for the little tubes when the system is gettin full and the big mother for filling her up to nearly the top. Think in all it cost me about £7-£8 and that was nearly 2 years ago, still got half the 5l bottle and 1 1l bottle left lol.

I have a single 5.25 Typhoon res for sale £12 delivered has two inlet and outlets, its green uv reactive with 3/8 fittings

Thanks for that guys. Ill stick to the layout i got now phill, thanks for the speedy response.

Thanks for the offer on the res, but i def want a dual one, so ill pass on that offer, and i wasnt it with 1/2 fittings.

So, im looking at around 2 litres maximum to fill it all up.

I remmebered somthing else aswell, i dont need any anti algae mix do i? as im using the zerex?
